Understanding “Church Words”!

Do you sometimes have trouble understanding “church words” or “Bible words?’  I can understand how that can happen, especially if you are new to the faith journey.  The New Testament writers were faced with the unenviable task of communicating in the common language of their people what God had done for them and for us through Jesus Christ.  But, let’s be honest.  Do you sometimes encounter difficulty in explaining biblical truth to your friends and family or trying to tell them what God has done for you through your relationship with Jesus?

Often those writers would use multiple words and word pictures to describe the gospel message and its transforming effects on those who opened their lives and accepted gospel truth.  One word that our tradition has seemed to hold onto through the years is one that occurs in a number of biblical passages.  It is the word “saved”.  It is critical that we understand the meaning and implications of this word as we journey forward in our faith.

Beginning Sunday, September 8, Pastor Lee will begin a series of messages focused on that word “Saved”.  Understanding and applying the meaning of that word can transform your life!
